Behind the pretty face
Communication is the corner-stone of the modern world: phone, fax, television,
internet. These are the tools we use to contact clients, friends and
aquaintences, and key to this process is the effective communication of information.
At Spider, we focus on building sustainable, affordable and efficient
websites that improve clients' ability to communicate. This means that
functionality is paramount - which is why we call ourselves "Information Engineers".
Which is not to say that appearances don't count: an attractive, user-friendly
interface is a vital ingredient in any application.
We also understand that SMEs (Small-Medium Enterprises) often find it
hard to get started with an effective internet presence - which is why they
are our target audience.
What are the options?
While every case is different, we have found that most projects fall into
three categories. Follow the links for examples from our portfolio, pricing
guidelines and more detailed features.
Basic Website: Starting out small never hurt anyone -
a basic website with simple graphic design, email aliasing and customer feedback forms
is often the best way to start out. |
 |
Standard Website: A step above the basic website
is what we call the standard website - common features include news, events,
a basic database of items for sale and their prices, and a way for customers
to "check-out" items.
